One of the most important port of Japan, Shiogama port. "Shio" means Salt, "gama" means huge steam pan. long time ago, many people produce salt from sea water in here named "mojio". "mojio" means "salt made from sea weed".

国内有数の漁港、塩竃港「塩釜」という字の方が一般的。

Some people stand to revive industrial activities in this tsunami stricken area. The pictures are scene of the people mend a broken steel wire.

港湾に男達が集まり、ワイヤーケーブルを修復している。これも復興に向けた活動の一つ

Increasingly water fill into rice fields. To fill rice field with water needs discreet points. Because water channel was broken, and existant under 0 sea level area, sea water is leaved in the fields. Simply they want to put away sea water from their field, but to fill water causes submerging rice field under the sea level field. Water feed needs Many check points, It's take a long time to fill up rice field.

田にはやっと水が入った。灌漑がダメージを受け水路も壊れ排水路も壊れ、上流から徐々に水位を確認しながらでないと、海抜マイナスゼロメートル地帯が水没する為、修復しながら水を流す。例年より相当遅い田植えだ。

The shop -Seven-Eleven Oshiro 5 Chome- locates Between Shichi-ga-hama town and Tagajo city. This store started to sell in disaster area with such farmar's market way. They stands a tent and distributed many product in a specific vihcles because former shop was attacked and broke down with the quake. Money checking registerd with handy terminals. I think that it is the most evolutional sales way.

七ヶ浜町と多賀城市との境界近辺にある大代5丁目。このセブンイレブンの役割は大きい。元の店は営業できずにいたが、店先にテントを張りゴンドラを載せた専用トラックで供給。勘定決済はハンディターミナルで行っている。自分の目には最も進んだ商業形態に映った。来てもらう常設店舗でなく、どこにでも常設店舗が可能だからだ。

"This selling way starts up from here". This selling way is brought to other area from here. It seems to farmer's market.

「この形態で営業した最初のセブンイレブン店がこの店です」ここから各地に波及していった。見た目は直売所と同じだ。この逞しさには感服するばかりだ。

The marketing of the convenience store has 4 principles. One of the principle is "we must suite to needs rapidly". And proper buyers ordinarly choose products for "use or eat while 30 minites from point of parchase". This product line up is not "use/eat in 30 minites", but must be most needed product in this region.

コンビニエンスストアの原点となった商品採用のコンセプトは「30分以内に消費する商品」だ。この品ぞろえからは考えられないが、これこそがこの地域で必要とされている物だと言う事。

Ishinomaki Farmer's market in Higashi-matsubara not able to open. I beleave this market must be revive. It says "I'm sorry for shop closing for a while. We are going to re-open between May and June"

東松島市にあるJA石巻の直売所。浸水地域。営業再開は難しかっただろう。早い復活を望みます。

Sand mixed soil on Parking was carried by Tsunami. It is Mark of invasion by sea water. Don't give up.

駐車場の土砂に津波の痕跡が見て取れる。がんばれ菜っちゃん市場!

It is normal sense that we shot never seen before. I would like to choice a photo theme "strong people and recovery", but I have taken pictures of the town situation with sufficiency.

自分の町には無いものに注目してしまう。抗する事ができない。「逞しさ」を取り上げたかったのだが、町の置かれている状況にばかり注目してしまう。あかんあかん。

Through the central Ishinomaki city, we entered next town Onagawa. Onagawa town locates at root Oshika peninsula. Earthquake moved Oshika peninsula to east-south-east for 5 meters. And this area sunken approximately 1 meter as subsidence. Onagawa town stands O meter on a sea level, It is too difficult to live here.

石巻の湾外の壊滅地帯を通り抜け、女川に入る。牝鹿半島は地震で約5メートル東南東に移動した。さらに約1メートル沈降し、海抜ゼロメートル以下の地帯となっている。この地域に住む事は難しいだろう。

I can't understand what it is when I see it at a grance. Take a mean while, I understood that it is Basement, and I'm afraid of tsunami power. Stricken this area has nuclear power plant.

これを見た時に何か分らなかった。建築基礎の裏側だと気づいた時は津波パワー桁違いの恐ろしさをあらためて感じた。津波の直撃を受けたこの湾の突端には原子力発電所があるわけ。

Nuclear Power plant locates 15km distance from Onagawa station with 40 minites drive by automobile beyond some mountains and valleys narrow road, I could see the road was broken. Fortunately Onagawa nuclear power plant is able to continue to operate through the attack by tsunami, they prepare the risk about the road to be severed.

津波の被害を逃れたその原子力発電所に行くには山あいの道路を通っていかなくてはならない。その道路は土砂崩れで崩壊しそうな箇所がいくつもある。原子力発電所はかろうじて運転できているかもしれないが、陸上交通の寸断の方が危険だったりして。

Tome city, Miyagi Pref.

登米市

Here is Tome City. Tome is famous by rice, about "Tome Rice". And Many farmer's market stand in region. Most stricken area, Ishinomaki city ask for Tome city about distribution a rice against food shotage, respond farmers in Tome carried tons of rice to Ishinomaki. We found farmer's market in Tome, nakada area.

登米市は米の名産地ゆえ、地名に"米"の字がついている。最もひどく被災した石巻からの要請で登米から数十俵の米を輸送した農業団体もある。登米の米「登米米」または「登米ライス」が有名だ。そして登米市は直売所も多い。その登米市中田地区にある直売所に立ち寄る。震災直後に停電し数日間営業できずにいた。

Here was Nakada Town, before combine a local gov't each other. Farmer's market was managed by farmers themselves not agricaltural organization or local gov't.

合併する前には中田町という名前だった場所で、その地区に住む農家が主体となって直売所を運営している。農協や行政が運営している直売所ではなく、農家自身の経営による直売所だ。

Mr.Chiba (Vice manager) says us "We are not victim, We support regional people with products".

「自分達は被災したわけではない。地域の方を支えて行く」という副店長の千葉さんの言葉が心強い。
